The overall task before the National Knowledge Commission (NKC) is to excellence in the educational system to meet the knowledge challenges of the 21st century and increase India's competitive advantage in the fields of knowledge. Globalization with its multidimensional impact on our highly heterogeneous education system has led the University Grants Commission to reorient, reshape and revamp its policies and programmes. With a view to making the ambit of prevalent higher education the Belda College, among all the afficiated colleges under Vidyasagar University, can really boast of having been approved by the University Grant Commission market oriented two Add — on coures — one in Humanities and the other in Sciences (Hardware maintenance & PC assembling). Another feather in the cap of the college that really made this institution of higher education admirable is the accreditation of DOE ACC 'O' level course by the Department of Electronics Accredited computer courses under Mininstry of communication and Information Technology (MCIT), Govt. of India. In line with the recommendations of the NAAC PEER Team the college has alreadys completed the ground floor of its Science Building. The college with its 23 departments is disseminating higher education to almost 3000 students among the 6 blocks in the district of Paschin Medinipur in West Bengal. We are looking forward to further development of this college by putting its as a centre of excellence in the educational map of West Bengal.
